Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this product have a Prop 65 Warning?

Short answer: because California law says we have to have one.

Longer answer:  California’s Prop 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, requires a warning on all products that contain chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm, even in amounts a fraction of what is deemed safe by federal standards. There are more than 900 such chemicals listed. Marijuana smoke has been included on the list since 2009, and THC was recently added.  Our products contain “full spectrum” hemp extract. A full spectrum product contains the full assortment of cannabinoids that are naturally present in the hemp plant, including THC (though at a level that does not exceed 0.3% concentration on a dry weight basis to be compliant with the requirements of the 2018 Farm Bill). However even “broad spectrum” products that contain the full assortment of cannabinoids, must include a Prop 65 warning because any detectable level of THC will trigger Prop 65 obligations because there is no “safe harbor” level for THC under Prop 65.

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical known as a cannabinoid, found within plants of the Cannabis genus, and most commonly from hemp. Hemp has a long history of use in various products all over the world, and given its high concentration of CBD (and naturally low levels of THC) it's an ideal source plant for CBD. CBD is a versatile compound, and has been included in tinctures, edibles, lotions, bath bombs, and more.

What is the Difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

While both hemp and marijuana are part of the Cannabis genus, being different strains of the Cannabis Sativa plant, they differ in terms of use and their cannabinoid profiles. Hemp, also known as industrial hemp, has naturally high levels of CBD and low levels of THC. When grown by a licensed grower and containing no more than 0.3% THC content, hemp is considered federally legal as a source for CBD products. In contrast, marijuana has naturally higher levels of THC, and relatively low levels of CBD. THC is a psychoactive chemical, and is what gives the 'high' that marijuana users report experiencing. Federally legal hemp won't get you high thanks to its negligible levels of THC.

Will CBD Help Me?

CBD’s potential benefits remain a topic of serious scientific interest, with multiple studies having been conducted recognizing CBD’s innate properties. Though the Food and Drug Administration does not currently recognize cannabidiol as suitable for food products or as a supplement, it continues to investigate CBD for the role it can serve for consumers in the future. We recommend you take the time to research the uses and effects of CBD, and consult your physician if you have any questions or concerns.

Will THC show up on a drug test?

Products that use CBD Isolate generally do not contain THC or other cannabinoids, while our Full Spectrum CBD products contain no more than 0.3% THC content, the federal legal limit for hemp and CBD products. Broad Spectrum CBD products are similar to Full Spectrum CBD, but generally will not have THC.

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

Full Spectrum CBD is an extract that contains many, or even all, of the natural cannabinoids of the hemp plant. In addition, a full spectrum extract may also contain the terpenes, vitamins, minerals, and other natural components of the hemp plant. While Full Spectrum CBD may contain THC, when grown and processed correctly it is only present in trace amounts. At CanaShisha, all our CBD products contain no more than 0.3% THC content, which is not enough to experience a ‘high’.

What is Delta-8?

Delta-8 is a hemp compound that has become popular because of its similarity to delta-9 THC. The similarities between the two cannabinoids lie in their chemical structures and their names. THC’s scientific name is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or delta-9 THC, or just delta-9. Delta-8 is short for delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol, or delta-8 THC.  Delta-8 can cause effects similar to regular delta-9 THC—but they will be much less potent. Because of the 2018 farm bill, hemp can be legally grown and used for extractions all over the United States, making delta-8 legal in states where delta-9 THC is illegal—sometimes. Our delta-8 is hemp-derived, which makes it, legal.
